Mitigating and Adapting to Climate Change in Colorado

The Sustainability Series is a monthly networking forum for the public to learn and discuss how local Front Range universities, business, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental agencies have incorporated and defined sustainability in innovative and progressive ways.

With the EPA's Clean Power Plan Proposal to reduce carbon pollution from existing power plants recently released for public feedback, it's clear that Colorado is already a leader among states for strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Join us at The Alliance Center for the August Sustainability Series as we explore current strategies in Colorado to mitigate and adapt to climate change; from an overview of the EPA's proposed rules to the release of Denver's aggressive Climate Change Adaptation Plan and beyond. Anyone working on or interested in climate change mitigation is encouraged to attend and contribute to the conversation!

Speakers:

• Laura Farris, Climate Change/International Coordinator, EPA Region 8

• David Erickson, Environmental Public Health Program Administrator, City and County of Denver

The Alliance Center is newly remodeled.  A beautiful location.  Check it out!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
