The Greenwich Acoustic Music Circle (GAMC) is a monthly play/sing along jam for acoustic instrumentalists and for singers. We welcome people at all levels of ability. It's simply an evening of sharing great songs with others in a friendly and supportive environment.
How it works:
We go around in a circle and every person has an opportunity to lead, suggest, or request at least one song, though usually we get to two or three go rounds. For the first two times around, we ask that everyone look at the number of RSVPs, and bring enough copies of your chords/lyrics to pass around to the group. For the last go round, you can play whatever you like without bringing music - if you want to try out a new song, play an original, etc. About half way through the evening, we take a break to eat/drink/mingle.
What kinds of music do you play?
If you can play it on an acoustic instrument and.or sing it, it works -- folk, gospel, traditional, contemporary, alt/indie, classic rock, bluegrass, bossa nova, country, etc.
What do I need to bring?:
Mostly you just need to bring your instrument and/or voice, but many people like to bring a music stand, instrument stand, and copies of your music. I also ask that you pitch in and bring some snacks/drinks for our intermission mingling.
