If you've never been to The Edison you're in for a big treat. It's a step back in time and was built in 1910. The architecture and design is absolutely gorgeous. The Edison used to be an old power plant, and is complete with generators smack dab in the middle of one room, and has been converted into an upscale lounge. It is HUGE inside and there are so many beautiful rooms. For those of you that know me, as much as I love to drink, I don't really go to clubs as I find them annoying. However, the beauty and spaciousness of The Edison has made me make an exception. Whatever you've heard about the expense, the wait at the door, etc., get over it. If you know how to do it right, which I'll show you, there will be none of that nonsense. First of all, we're going on a Thursday night, the crowd is way smaller on a Thursday than on the weekend. Plus, we're going early to get in and get settled into a cool spot.
Virtual Tour of Edison: http://www.edisondowntown.com/main.htm
We'll start off early with cocktails. There's a show going on and the performers are Lindsay and The All Nighters. This girl looks great! Big voice, sexy, great music and a few dancers belting out Nina Simone, Etta James, and Tina Turner. I've attached a link:
Her first set starts at 8:30 and there are four sets throughout the night. I'd like to suggest that everyone dress up a bit. There is a dress code, mainly for the men so check it out here: http://www.edisondowntown.com/main.htm
Parking: They have valet but I suggest parking in a lot, some aren't that expensive in the area and you're good all night.
I know it seems as if they require a lot but once you get there, you'll see how really beautiful it is. Thanks and I look forward to seeing all of you!
Happy hour is from 5:00-7:00
I'll be there at 6:00
Show starts at 8:30
Stay as long as you like!
YOU ENTER DOWN AN ALLEY, IT'S PRETTY BIG SO YOU'LL SEE IT!
