Greetings all. This group meets the first Wednesday of each month in Bloomingdale at 7PM.
The goal of the group is to encourage poets of all varieties to not just write but write better. People are free to use any format (formal or free verse) to share with all. Currently each person is encouraged to read two pieces - one they do not want/need input on and one that he/she wishes to be critiqued. This is designed as constructive criticism. Saying things like "It just sucks." isn't acceptable. On the same end, this isn't for people who just want to be patted on the back. Writing is fun. Some of us want to go that extra mile to do our best as well as just write words on paper.
This is a sociel gathering for people of all races, sexual orientation, religious backgrounds and ethnicities. If any of those differences bothers you, please don't come. I would like to state all persons should be 16 or older OR comfortable discussing adult material. I have written some 'racy' poetry and wouldn't want to offend anyone with delicate sensibilities.
Whether you are a published author or not, come on down and try your hand at the poetry workshop. Exact location will be given to those who wish to attend.
This is for sociel and educational purposes and not meant in any way as a form of dating service.
Best wishes to all and look forward to hearing from people.
Regards,
M. Siren
We'll gather together to review poetry styles, offer constructive criticism and socialize with other writers. Location is the Barnes & Noble at 200 S. Gary Ave, Bloomingdale, IL.
RSVP's are encouraged so I can reserve tables.
I know Wednesday's aren't the best for everyone, but it is the only night I don't work or have my child with me.
