We will meet 9:45-9:55 am at the corner of Lamar and Bagby near the Heritage Society. At 9:55 we will head the one block over to the the festival. If you cannot find us please call/text (832) 754-0566. You are welcome to stick with us or wander on your own. I will be taking pictures to enter into their photography contest so may be walking a bit slower at times.
Watch your step! Over 240 artists are taking over the streets of downtown Houston, covering the ground in colorful chalk art murals. The Houston Via Colori ® Street Painting Festival, presented by LINN Energy LLC, is back for its seventh year benefiting The Center for Hearing and Speech. This FREE two-day festival is an interactive art experience that will captivate all your senses. You can talk to the artists, jam to live music and delight in food and drinks.
Since its inception in 2006, Via Colori has pushed the envelope and featured stellar art. This year is no different. Come witness the creation of a record-breaking masterpiece – one city block long. The 2012 Downtown Mural will transform the city’s skyline and iconic landmarks into an imaginative work of art.
Some of my pictures from last year just to give you an idea of some of the amazing things you will see at this festival:
