Words of Wisdom:
~ Please review Liability Release statement at THIS LINK

~ Proper gear, a working machine and gas in the tank is highly recommended.
~ Ride within your comfort zone and leave room for bad karma.
~ I may pass slower traffic when it's safe. You don't have to. Remember, someone will wait for you at turns, so just relax and have fun.
~ I maintain the Pace according to road conditions with safety of all riders in mind. Be mindful of others in the group. Let faster riders get ahead of you by moving to the right and signaling them to pass you. And if you want to pass the rider(s) who are in front of you, make sure to do so safely and without startling them.

~ If you know the area and would like to sweep for the group (AM shift, PM shift or both), please let me know.
~ Good stuff to read before going on group rides (CLICK).
~ Keep an eye for the rider(s) behind you so they won't take a wrong turn. If they get lost, you'll buy their lunch

So now I understand what Skaggs is all about !! let's do it again as soon as the temperature gets below 100 degrees !

Much thanks to the corner and sweep volunteers and of course Mehran for planning and managing the ensuing circus ;-). Fun group and much thanks for everyone's patience while I learn to re-ride with my new ride.

Thanks everyone for spending 4th of July with us. Roads were great (even that section of Hwy 1 North of Jenner with the edge middle of the road). Yeap, weather was on the warm side, but it wasn't too bad. Special thanks to our volunteer crew and the usual suspects for helping keep the group intact. Until next time.

Absolutely brilliant, splendid BBQ (oops, I meant ride!). Yes, it got a bit toasty, but warmth is what we're all about, and there was an abundance of it today. Thank you Mehran and everyone for being just wonderful people. I am honored to be a member of this phenomenal group!

Just got home. Mehran what a nice ride. You ride your bike very well and you were plenty fast for me. I did get a few chances to hit 110 and got once to 120.. It was a very great ride. Nice to see some of the old faces and new ones. I am waiting for the next time and I will volunteer to mark the turns for you next time.

  • Pierre & M.

Great ride today! Thanks to Mehran and crew. A lil warm as we headed east from the coast but was a good pace with a lean group of 40 bikes...

    Happy 4th everyone!

I just rode Skaggs yesterday. Road good, lots of cars and a logging truck. Will be interesting with so many riders from Stewarts Point to the two lane road.

    July 3, 2013

  • Tom

will sweep, tools and duct tape ready ;-) BUT no crashes please

    1 · July 3, 2013

Should be fun let's hope not too hot!

    July 3, 2013

  • Jeff

I'd like to join, but I'm still not comfortable riding Skaggs at this point. However, if I do go I'll split off at Hwy 116 and meet everyone up in Healdsburg.
    ETA in Healdsburg Mehran?

    July 3, 2013

    • Jeff

      Something like this: http://goo.gl/maps/tc...

      July 3, 2013

    • Mehran

Jeff, the time to try something new is when you're with a group of good riders. Just hang back near the end and ride at your own pace. Skaggs is long and windy, but if you ride within your comfort zone, you'll be fine and have a great ride. <><> Having said that, from Bodega Bay gas top to Healdsburg will take us 2-2.5 hours.

      3 · July 3, 2013

Happy 4th everyone and have a great time.

    • Mehran

Temps are 7 day outlook from "today".

      June 25, 2013

    • Tom

You can most likely expect 50 degrees at Stewart Point, so don't forget to bring layers. Pacific coast is always cold.

      June 27, 2013

  • Ron S.

Beefy Ride :) looking forward to it...

    June 24, 2013

  • Larry

I notice there was no Z on the map above... guess it's a good idea there are no Z's during a ride. ;~)

    June 21, 2013

    • Mehran

      Yeap, no Z's :-)

      June 21, 2013

  • Johnny V. F.

Is there a route completed that I can check out on Google maps or something similar?

  • Jim

Sounds like a fun ride, but I would've been up way too late the night before to make it on time (I have to come in from Sacramento).

    June 19, 2013

  • Steven

Out of town that weekend. Have fun everyone!

    June 19, 2013

  • john m.

    Sho-nuff! Who's bringing the fireworks?!

    June 18, 2013

  • Johnny V. F.

Has anybody ever taken Tin Barn Rd off of Skaggs to Cazadero? Its an incredible ridge top rd that takes you back to Ca-116.

    June 16, 2013

    • Michele

Did that a couple years ago and there was a section of probably at least 5 miles that was dirt / mud road.

      June 18, 2013

    • Johnny V. F.

Ah, understood, I've never ran into that before. However, I could see that occurring easily in the wet season.
