Grrrl Scouts is going to be an experiment in adult scouting. Activities will include the useful (first aid, women's self-defense), the fun but not-so-useful(arts and crafts), and some that are a little bit of both (camping).
Major decisions about Grrrl Scouts will be decided democratically. Hierarchy sucks and leadership opportunities abound. Got a skill that you'd be interested in teaching the rest of the group? Volunteer to teach a class, or suggest a meet-up.
And yes, there will be opportunities to earn real live merit badges!
But most importantly, I really hope that Grrrl Scouts will be a place where young women can foster really positive, supportive friendships.
