Ffyona, the first woman to walk around the world, will teach us how to find wild food in British woodland and present stories of her round the world trip after dinner on the Saturday evening £130pp
Join Ffyona on a day's wild food hunt in the woods. Learn which berries, nuts, fungi and lichen can be used sustainably from our British woodland. During these forages we will cover flora identification techniques, and some of the useful edible and medicinal plants available to us in our British Woodland. Through hands on training, you will learn how to harvest these resources in a sustainable manner, and how to prepare each ingredient. There will be tasting sessions through the day
We are honoured that our wild food course will be led by Ffyona Campbell. Ffyona is perhaps better known as a long-distance walker, infact she was the first woman to walk around the world. She covered 32,000 kilometres over 11 years and wrote several best-selling books. The knowledge she gained from that experience and from living with various tribes around the world inspired Ffyona to learn about wild food in Britain. She has spent the last decade learning how to live off the land here in the UK.
Saturday will be spent foraging in the woodlands, Saturday evening listening to Ffyona's walk around the world and Sunday is the chance for a guided walk on the moors.
Accommodation is in comfortable cottages right on the edge of Dartmoor.
