*** SCHEDULE CHANGE ***

Keith Oorbeck sent a message at 12:04 Jun 19, 2012, that he would not be attending, so this presentation will not happen.  We will have an alternative presentation that is being planned as this is written.

------------------------------

This is the meeting to attend for anyone for anyone interested in file sharing on a home network.  The home networking overview will be presented by Keith Oorbeck.  While he is still formulating the exact course of the presentation, we do hope to have, at least, two client PCs and possibly a server connected to the LAN we setup.  This should emulate most home networks.  If you do not have a network at home, come out to investigate how easy it is to setup such a network so members of your family can share files and use the Internet from any of their own PCs.  If you already have a home network, you will likely be able to help answer the questions from those trying to learn the skill.

In addition, Keith's friend, Lynn, has agreed to provide brownies for our enjoyment at the meeting.  I seriously doubt brownies will be necessary to enjoy the meeting, but it sure cannot hurt!  Heck, I'd be there for just that!

It was my first meeting, it was very nice to meet all members who attended, the idea of establishing a relationship with LPI is great and I am very interested in, it would give me another reason to reach one of my personal goals ( Thanks Pat & John for bringing this to the table ) - I already started working on gathering training/learning material and other related information. The Raspberry Pi was great David, I wish we would have more time and demo some of its capabilities. ( maybe next time ).
The more inputs on the board, the more possible topics that we could discuss - Plus we can get to know each other better this way... maybe can start a project as a result of sharing our ideas... what do you think?
There is not many places that can offer so many opportunities within a group of people that share the same interest - including learning. ( without paying $150/h )
"..and it probably never will support anything other than AT-harddisks.." - Linus Torvalds (25 Aug 91 20:57:08 GMT)
