Tell us a little bit about yourself...

I've played guitar for 44 years...so I really should be better at it by now, I guess. But, along the way I've learned a lot of other instruments and had a couple other careers besides my current one as a guitar and strings teacher.

Have you ever been a part of a guitar society before?

Yes. Was involved in a guitar society in San Diego many years ago. It eventually faded away and a few years later I got another one going. It was great fun, with lots of educational and performance opportunities, plus a guitar quartet and a regular magazine. I thought it would be nice to be part of another one.

What potential guitar society activities most interest you? (Meetings, concerts, recitals, master classes, workshops, meet-the-artist events, publications, ensemble playing, festivals, community service, fundraising for arts, scholarships, other...)

All of the above... :-) Realistically, though, I most want to do some ensemble playing and give my students additional opportunities.

Introduction

Hi, I'm a classical guitarist and strings teacher who misses playing in a guitar quartet and figured the most direct way to meet other guitarists was to start a guitar society!
