Please make sure you RSVP in a timely fashion and please do not RSVP "Yes" for any event unless and until you are ready to commit to attending that event.RSVP'ing Yes does not mean maybe.A cancellation within the 24 hours before an event is considered a "no show".If you find you can't make it please be thoughtful and cancel as soon as you know you can't make it so that someone on the waitlist might be able to make it.

NO SHOWS ARE NOT COOL AND HAVE CONSEQUENCES
Our group is based on friendship and fun shared experiences. We hopefully increase consciousness of each other."No-shows" have consequences and cause issues because:
If there are people on the waiting list and you don't show up, it's extremely frustrating for them when they are locked out of the wonderful game day you signed up for.
Even without a waiting list, people are still waiting around for you at the beginning of the meetup before explaining rules of the opening game.
Also, games are chosen based on the attendees list that have RSVP'd "Yes", and Name tags are made the night before the event.
This further is inconsiderate of the different establishments where we hold our various meetups.Restaurants staff and reserve space for us, sometimes turning others away.Meetups held in homes make sure there is enough seating and food.
So, please be a cool and considerate gaming enthusiast by attending events that you have RSVP'd "Yes".Please update your RSVP (or contact the event organizer) if your plans have changed. Not sure how to change your RSVP from "Yes" to "No?"See the end of this page for instructions.

Your consequences

Any "no-show" will write an explanation in the meetup discussion for that event. You should do this before signing up for another gaming meetup. We hope explaining the reason to other members will increase consciousness about the effect on others.

Three no shows - 90 day suspension. You can undo your 3 no-show violation by letting the organizer know you are coming via message or email and then showing up three times in a row when you say your coming.Upon return one more no show - 180 day suspension -- please don't go there. For a while (maybe forever), we will automatically ask the question about whether you understand the no-show policy. If you are on a waiting list, and you won't be available, take yourself off the waiting list.Sometimes spots free up at the last minute, so if you can't make it, take yourself off the waiting list.

We feel that it is fairly simple to cancel a reservation or call the organizer (we always post contact numbers). Please try to take yourself off the list in a timely manner, to give others a chance to attend the meetup. We hope that members will exercise consideration of others, especially with a waiting list, so we don't need to add a new policy.Truthfully coming up with policies like this is not especially rewarding. We'd rather be gaming!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if I'm not sure I can go?"Yes" does not mean "Maybe".Please do not RSVP "Yes" for any event unless and until you are ready to commit to attending that event. Most of our events have limits on RSVPs, so holding a spot at any event you only might attend can bar someone who is ready to commit from RSVPing.Don't worry, if the event has filled up by the time you decide you'd like to come, there will be other events, and other opportunities down the line. Far better to miss one event than to sour your reputation among the group by being a no-show, or always cancelling at the last minute.
What if I meant to attend, but forgot?Sorry, but you will still be considered a no-show.
What about the unexpected?Stuff happens, and even the best-laid plans can change unexpectedly. We understand. If that happens to you and it is close to the meeting time, contact the event organizer as soon as you can.Contact phone numbers are always in the comments of the event or event description.

How does the Waiting List work?If a meetup is full, you can opt to go on the waiting list. Should a spot open up, Meetup will automatically notify you that your RSVP has been changed to "Yes." If your plans have changed, please be sure to change your RSVP from "Yes" to "No".If you are on a waiting list and are still interested, check Meetup right up to the evening before a meetup as there may be last-minute openings. If you are on the waiting list and have made other plans and no longer wish to attend, please change your RSVP to "No" so that another gamer may have a chance to get into the meetup.

HOW TO'S
How to change your "Yes" RSVP to a "No"If your plans change, you can change your RSVP for an event. The email you received announcing the meetup has both a Yes and No button in the text. If you still have that email, you can open it and click the No button. This will change your "Yes" to a "No."Go to the meetup home page and find the event in question under the list of upcoming Meetups for the Group. Click on the event name to get to the page with that events details. On the right you will see a box that says: "Your RSVP: Yes" with a "change RSVP" link below it.Click the "change RSVP" link.A box opens asking: "Will you attend?".Click the "No" button, add a comment if you wish, then click the Red RSVP button.

If you would like to bring your teen (12+) please just check with us first. That might be fine depending on what game(s) we are playing.
