We haven't done a "Short Session" night in a while, and it is time to rectify that.
In the next few months I would like for us to have one or more short session meetings.
The idea behind these evenings is that we want folks in our group who haven't presented before or who don't present frequently to have a chance to share something they are interested in, working on, or are just curious about. Of course, if you present frequently, but have a short topic you want to do, that's fine too.
The short length (15-30 minutes) makes it easier for a first-timer who might not want to bite off a 60-90 minute session.
If you are interested in taking part, please email me with your potential topic/title/description ASAP ([address removed]).
If you have an idea, but need some flexibility on the 15-30 minute length, just let me know. All I really need is a set of topics that add up to about 90 minutes...
Don't worry if you aren't an expert on your subject; that's not the idea here. By the time you prepare your presentation, you will be on the road to becoming an expert. I find that it really motivates me to dig a bit deeper on a subject when I know I'll be presenting.
I'm currently planning the 2nd quarter meetings, and I'd really like to include a short session evening.
If you have topic you don't want to present yourself, but would like to hear about, let me know that as well. I'm currently trying to track down a speaker for an Intro To Node.js session.
I look forward to hearing from everyone!
