Thank you so much!

I have already contacted Microsoft, and they are going to provide $500 for this camp already.

Thanks,
Vaishali

I have no idea who at Microsoft to contact since the two Developer Evangelists for our area left at the end of last year...

Hi Jeff,

Thanks!  Can you please send me some contact information for the people that I could ping for giveaways during the camp?

Thanks,
Vaishali

If you want to learn more about Microsoft's cloud solution, you won't want to miss this event.

In this free, hands-on bootcamp you'll learn what's available on Windows Azure and through a series of labs get your feet wet building and deploying to Azure. Obviously you'll need to bring your own laptop.

Microsoft is sponsoring a number of these bootcamps around the world, and our local event is being hosted by Innovative Architects at their office in Duluth, just off the town green.

To learn more about the event and to register go to the Global Windows Azure website.

Be sure to check out the prerequisites! You will need your own laptop, at least a trial Azure subscription, and specific versions of Visual Studio, etc. The full list is on the website. Note that you need to install all software BEFORE the day of the event. Don't be the person who spends half the day just downloading and installing all the software that was clearly listed as a prerequisite...

I personally recommend this event if you are at all interested in working with "The Cloud" especially with Microsoft technologies. Azure has really become interesting in the past year, so even if you previously ruled it out, you should take a new look to see what's possible now.

One thing you may not know if you looked at the earlier incarnation of Azure is that there is now a spending cap on the trial subscriptions. That means if you exceed the free hours, you will NOT be charged unless you specifically tell Azure to remove the cap. That was a major sticking point to many people (myself included) with the older Azure offering.

If you want to attend, I'd recommend registering soon.
