Gypsy Jazz Jam in Takoma on 5th Mondays.

Jam for Gypsy Jazz Musicians in Takoma Park. This is an open jam for people playing gypsy jazz. The VFW has been kind enough to allow us to meet at their location.

The VFW has a cash bar and basic snacks but nothing resembling a meal. I suggest you eat before you come.

If your Gypsy skills need work I suggest you look for resources prior to attending. You can find a fakebook by searching "Gypsy jazz fakebook pdf". You can also find a variety of lessons on youtube.

I would like to have an event for those players who would like some skill building.  If there are any players who would like to lead such an event please drop me a line.

Looking forward to meeting you and playing some music.

We saw Ludovic playing with Dorado Schmidt not too long ago. The guy is a monster player for sure.

    Is there room for listeners?

Is there a metro station close to the location?

    February 28, 2014

    • David

There is a Blugrass Jam that also regularly meets at this location. There is almost always room at the bar.

I would not call the Takoma Metro close. If you like to walk it is probably OK. Route is kind of dark. Maybe you could get someone to pick you up at the Metro.
