Free Entry to a Close Encounter with Giants of Modern Painting at Louisiana on February 5th

Special offer from The Copenhagen Book & Louisiana Museum - don't forget to sign up!

On February 5 friends and followers of The Copenhagen Book are offered free entry to the Louisiana Museum from 17.30 in connection with a lecture in English on Denmark’s most internationally acknowledged modernist painter Asger Jorn and his contemporary, the legendary Jackson Pollock, the most famous American painter of the 20th century. The lecture, starting at 20.00 is held by British art critic and expert Jeremy Lewison and explores the issues and challenges facing Jorn and Pollock and artists in the aftermath of World War 2, and how they in their very different ways faced and responded to these challenges.

The offer naturally allows for free entry to the entire museum, not least to the critically acclaimed exhibition “JORN & POLLOCK – Revolutionary Roads” (ending 23 February). With exceptional Pollock loans from MoMA, the Guggenheim, and the Tate museums, Louisiana has arranged this meeting between these two giants of postwar painting. It is the first exhibition ever to offer a confrontation between these two, and will be shown only at Louisiana, ending 23 February - More info.

You will also be able to see the brand new exhibition on Arab Contemporary on architecture, culture and identity in the Arab countries today - More info.

Please sign up for this offer by sending an email with your name to Kristin Terp Jensen at Louisiana. [masked]

You can take the bus 388 at 16h40 from Helsingør or the train 16h03 to Humlebæk and walk.
