I thought this was a really interesting book. Well written and informative. I liked how it described both the important politicians and people, as well as the experience of the average "citizen of london." I always value the participation and discussion of HBC's members!

Is this the title of a book that will be the subject of discussion?

Sorry, I didn't see your comment until today. Yes, that was the book selection for January. I am about to put up a poll for the next book selection. Please check back tomorrow.

Sorry to have missed the meeting. I did read the book and was very happy with it. Not something I would have chosen to read on my own, but was really worth it. I do not know much about World War II so reading about the events through the lives of these three people was more interesting than just facts and figures, it made it personal. Running it all the way through their lives after the war is what hit me the most. How the events personally affected each of them - short term and long term, was particularly interesting. War (as with many other things) is about something but the real meaning is in the lives of the people who lived through it.

Sorry, caught out of town and can't make it back in time. But a GREAT choice! Interesting and provocative. Next time I hope...

I was side tracked this month - never really got into reading this book. Hope to see you all next time!
