Cocktails & Conversations

Hey guys! Diamonds In The Rough (DITR) has invited our HBCU Graduates and Friends meetup group to a happy hour next month entitled "Cocktails and Conversations"! Below is more about their group:

"Cocktails & Conversations," is a Philadelphia After-work experience where young, upwardly mobile, educated professionals can come together to relax, network, and fellowship with like-minded individuals. From exchanging a business card to getting your two-step, allow Cocktails & Conversations to help you unwind after a long week, along with welcoming the weekend. Whether you recently moved to Philly for school or you are a seasoned Philadelphia resident, Cocktails & Conversations will provide you with good food, great tunes, and an excellent time.

-----
Please RSVP if you are able to make it. This meetup is not an internal HBCU Graduates and Friends organized event. Again, we have been invited as special guests. This is a free event. If you're not busy this day, check it out! You should be in for a great time with great people!

    Hello everyone,
On behalf of Diamonds In The Rough, I want to thank everyone who attended our first edition of "Cocktails & Conversations" We appreciate everyone's patience throughout the night. As a host, I have noted these issues and expressed our concerns to the necessary people. For those that provided feedback, it was greatly appreciated and we will make the necessary changes to improve the experience for everyone. The show will go on and we will continue our vision to bring young, upwardly mobile, educated professionals together to networking, socialize and fellowship around common goals and desires. I look forward to connecting with more individuals here.

    Hey Everyone,
I appreciate the opportunity to share our event with your group. Our motivation for this endeavor comes from a desire to fill a important void. Philadelphia is viewed as a blue-collar town. Despite this blue-collar perception, you and I both know that the Greater Philadelphia region is home to many young, upwardly mobile professionals in various corporate industries. If you are like myself, then you have said "is there an after work experience in Philly where I can connect and socialize with like-minded professionals, particularly mid 20's/early 30's?" I share and understand your frustration, which led us to create this event. While I graduated from Temple Univ., our CEO, David Pulley is a Howard Univ. graduate (we can save those "real HU" discussions for the actual event...lol) Anyways, to be kept abreast on any updates surrounding Cocktails & Conversations, feel free to check out our facebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/...

Tomas, thanks again for the invitation. I am sure many of our members want to change the social atmosphere and presence of the young black professional in the city of Philadelphia. Looking forward to the event. See you there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
