Getting There:
Mansfield Hallow Boat Launch:

For GPS use apx # 300 Bassetts Bridge Road Mansfield Center CT, (its close enough) for
mapquest or other, just compare the directions below to what you get, they should be similar.

From Hartford --- I - 84 East to---> I-384 East toward Bolton, bear right onto rte 6 at the (44 - 6 split) and follow rte 6 toward Willimantic.
- rte 6 and rte 66 will intersect at a light. Take a left on to rte 6.
- Follow this section of highway to the second exit, take the exit and go straight (=rte 633 or S. Frontage Rd.) it is actually a parallel to rte 6 as a connector to rte 195, (and heads towards the Mall & food store, etc)
- Signs for UCONN should be there somewhere too as a landmark.
- At the end of the connector, take a left and Go North on rte 195 towards UCONN for about 2 miles then turn right at the onto Basset Bridge Rd,
- Go apx 1 mile on Bassetts Bridge Rd.
You Will see a pickanick area on left *but go a bit further (apx 0.5 miles) to the boat ramp access before the Bassetts bridge on the left.

- (The picknick area you passed is where we go *after* the paddling is done).

- *At the boat launch, i will park as close to the bridge tunnels as i can, so look for me in that area, i will be wearing my ORANGE HUNTING HAT till paddle time.

BBQ LOCATION.. if good enough weather : Mansfield Hollow Picknick area,

if possible rain :

Columbia Recreation Fields Pavilion.

KAYAKS AVAILABLE:

The following Kayaks come with top rated paddles and life jackets transported to the put in site but must be specifically chosen and reserved in advance:

Boat use Doughnation is $20.00

Note: if you reserve a kayak and i take it all the way to the site and you do not show -- you will never join us again for any event.

These are my personal hobby boats and its asked you be sincere in showing up, besides i ask less than half of what a local shop charges and you get better equipment right at the event site's boat ramp.

Yes i will understand  traffic may cause you to be late and if i hear of of any traffic via my GPS or by other arriving members, then we usually wait a bit longer than normal.

Please make sure you fit in the boats and have some paddling skills (check the info of the boats in the corresponding links provided with each boat).

  • KAYAKING CT-MA-RI Sea & Riv A.

I thank Everyone that came out to brave the explosive lightening storms and pelting rain which clearly ripped off our exposed skin. The Hot Tub area was so full of leaches that even our paddles could not stirr them out of the kettle hole..so we just let them have lunch while we sat motionless in the middle, .
See ya all on the next few events..

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
