Hi Everyone,

I have never been to Chatfield Hollow, and ITS NOW TIME TO GO THERE.

Everyone says its a nice place, so if you have been there----> good, show us the "Features of Interest" .

From research the caves near the entrance to the park seem interesting, the swamp walk, the Chimney Trail, then all the other things like the water wheel..etc..would be nice to see.

Trail Map:

It seems like this place should be a something to add  as an annual event location also.

Pot Luck BBQ & Fire Pit location is nearby.. TBA at the event or earlier.

Bring your Potluck Foods, chair and beverage of choice..

I will bring a trunk load of wood and the BBQ Grill,

And most likely some Chocolate treats for desert.

more details added if need later...

As always everything depends on the weather and you all know its too soon to know for sure.

Chatfield Hollow:

Aproximate GPS # 450 North Branford RD, Killingworth CT

We just park in the lot down near the road by the entrance and walk in.

Good location- we will return. i have ending half of the loop set (the swamp walk &Caves)but need to return for the exploration of the CHIMMNEY trail sometime in November to find the interesting features there. Thanks Barbara for hosting the BBQ and everyone that came out to add to the overall greatness of the time together.

Suggestion-- meet in the main lot right in front near the sign entrance, then cross the road and begin the hike to the caves. It's rather short, approx 4-5 miles. Meanders with a little climb, but worthwhile. There is a pavilion close enough to the cars too, or back at my house.

We can have BBQ at my place again if that will work.
