DEC 27 - Ski at SkiSundown Friday Night

Hi Everyone,

This is an alternative to those Friday Happy hour events (or speed dating events with toothless despirate ones wanting to get lucky right before the grim reaper visits) and will instead give you a few more hours of outdoor happiness and excersize instead for about the same price.

I think its time to add one more local ski place to the list for us to visit this year.

The Cheap Ski at Northwest park has to wait till natural ground snow is deep enough.

Ski Sundown is another small CT ski mountain but is quite local for most of us and good for an evening ski season starting event.

Ski Sundown evening ski: 6 pm to 10 pm @ $36

 I encourage you to look at the trail map and ski conditions prior to you RSVPeeing;

http://skisundown.com/The-Mountain/Mountain-Information/Trail-Map-Statistics

The weather looks favorable at this time (too soon to use any prediction as actual), the wind is unknown this early also (we are heading into the westerly winds here but if warm enough, it actually feels good when you are a bit warm from all the healthy activity.

Site Address:
Ski Sundown‎ 126 Ratlum Road   New Hartford,    CT

I will be wearing my Orange Ski Hat (others now wear the same colors though) untill ski time.. then maybe a warmer hat ?

See those that are fit enough for this hill , interested and motivated enough to actually go.

Drive planning can be done prior to the event.

Don't feel bad, Sophie - at least you didn't start an avalanche like a few hikers did on Mnt. Washington recently.

Nice night for skiing, no wind, clear, temps in mid 20s. Also nice to relax in the lodge for a bit afterwards. And I was impressed to see Sophie ski right into the Terrain Park. Person of many skills ...!!

Ok the Baby Hills on the main slopes wernt the best yet this is what i grew up learning on and can handle it well, but the steaper hills were a good challenge with actual normal conditions, the terrain park finished off the night for sure.. its called a "scare the poop out of you " slope for a reason. We later enjoyed the place till long past closing time..For a local place its is fine.

Does anyone have a spare pair of goggles I can borrow tomorrow night? I may buy save some on the way there, but just in case I don't have time to....

Lisa thanks, but I think I may have just found some that I might buy from Craigslist. Can you bring them just in case I don't get them? Thanks so much

Have to work Friday but will be there shortly after....

Oh and you have to be there an hour before the lesson starts, so I am shooting for a 3:30 arrival time. I have my own gear, but it will give you time to get your gear and "saddle" up.

I hope to be feeling better after the stomach flu. So thinking about a lesson to get up to speed after a long skiing hiatus. Lesson begins at 4:30 on Friday and lasts an hour and a half for $45. Might be cheaper than an emergency room visit or a broken leg. Anyone else interested?
