MAR- 17--Kayak Group Hike @ Algodón Hollow & Pot Luck in Wethersfield after

Hi Everyone,

Saturday: Areas of Mysterious fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny with clear blue skys, with a high near 63. North wind around 6 mph becoming east.  Sounds good enough for this kind of event.

Cotton Hollow is a place i used to go to as a kid and to this day is still  a unique location.

This location has a few good photo areas.

Swimming is optional for the brave.

For current weather :

From Hartford Use apx #500 HOPEWELL RD Glastonbury ct for GPS and maps,

Take RT 2 South to rte 17 South,

When approaching South Glastonbury, look for Hopewell Rd on your left.

Take Hopewell Rd for apx 1 mile and the Pool and other parking area is on your right -- its before Hopewell splits with Mattson Hill rd.

Park in either lot, I personally like the Pool lot since its paved.

Bring a Waterside Snack for the beach or rock.

Bring your chairs and some pot luck food for after in Wethersfield.

Just follow us from Cotton Hollow if you do not know my home address.

I have wood and the fire pit ready to go for the back yard.

Grill is ready too along with the Spagetty Pot and other things to cook with.

Please remember i have limited parking in Wethersfield so park carefully in the back yard and next door.

See some of you soon..

Always loved this place with its perilous cliffs that are well known to the numerous ghosts who inhabit this area now after their earthly body plummeted over the edge into the hollow below. Most of us made it out , some had to turn back before the end but we all enjoyed the feast and fire after. Thanks Al for a great day of excitement and evening of fire, food and good friends

Tortured???? Well, this was not a "walk in the park", and some of us are only enjoying the ruins today. Thanks for taking photos for us Al....we feel like we were with you to the end now! It was a gorgeous day and it's a beautiful place. Many of us enjoyed socializing on the Cliff above the stream while you continued the adventure to the end. What a day for a backyard barbeque and campfire. Thanks Al.

I tortured everyone with a riverside walk up and down narrow ledges and mountain climbing section untill we passed the FEATURES ending with the Ruins Site.
I hope all that made the walk are now in shape for the next more aggressive hike.. :-)
Oh, great variety of foods at our pot always seems to work out great, and the fire was inviting for all on a very nice day for March.. Might have to move up the paddling event..
Thanks to all that came out for either part of the day.
