SEP 15 -- Kayak From the NARROW RIVER Wakefield to DUNES CLUB BEACH Narragansett

Hi Everyone,

I am assuming the weather will be OK enough based on the current predictions ?

We will be on the sandy point area as in the picture above

for the Beach Day..

Pot-luck BBQ is Nearby ---  if the weather looks real good for the weekend.

We will discuss this after our day at the Beach when planning to head out, not enough details at this time.

Anticipate Ninigret but may have another option to be discussed at the Paddle event.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Paddling This  river will lead us up and through the NARROWS to the Dunes Beach area for a day in the water and on the sand.

You can surf the water in your boat or just use your body, then enjoy the day on the beach.

You have to have some ability to navigate the tide change current on this river.

Only Whimps complain and cry but they too can make it if we dangle some food in front of them for incentive.

WEATHER at the SITE:

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.43304321031468&lon=-71.44138696289065

TIDE AT THE BEACH : http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/locations/4050.html

EXPECTED TIDE CURRENT AT THE BOAT RAMP AND ON THE RIVER: apx 2 hour lead/lag based on above: I see we will be riding with the tidal current  *out and back*  so that's an interesting condition for us... ok NO dangling of food up in front for the Whimps this time.

Every person can paddle this river even if you have a bathtub sized kayak but  you have to be determined to paddle it. Just think it will make your arms firmer and chest bigger but will make your ass a bit smaller in the process.

However there is a WHIMP put in spot closer to the Dunes Beach area at rte 1a, (You are on your own if you go there).

We will be fairly easy to spot on the beach or in the water.

See those interested at the event.

Driving Directions:

Just use your GPS (By now everyone should have one @ $50 -$100 each -- its only 2 or 3 "Outings" worth of Booze at some Happy Hour event, but you can take an empty beer bottle and "Spin the Bottle" as your compass) or use mapquest /equivalent.

The Meetup Map link at the top of the Event Listing page seems to be OK so use that for a visual or directions.

-----------------------------------------------

KAYAKS AVAILABLE:

The following Kayaks with paddles and life jackets are available for the put in site if reserved in advance:

Note: if you reserve a kayak and i take it all the way to the site and you do not show -- you will never join us again for any event, these are my personal hobby boats and its asked you be sincere in showing up besides i ask less than half of what a local shop charges and you get better equipment right at the event site.

I only bring the boats reserved prior to me heading out in the morning.

OR SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS EVENT YOU HAVE TO RESERVE BY THURSDAY NIGHT OR FRIDAY "EARLY" MORNING, I WILL NOT BE HOME AFTER THAT AND NO INTERNET TILL SUNDAY NIGHT. IF its nice weather and YOU DON'T SHOW, Bye.

Yes i will understand  traffic may cause you to be late and if i hear of of any traffic via my GPS or by other arriving members, then we usually wait a bit longer than normal.

Please get a GPS, or a GPS with traffic data is even better.

Boat use Doughnation is $20.00.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
