Hi everyone,

IMPORTANT!!
HKBO February Meetup is re-scheduled at 7:30pm, Feb 26 (Thursday) at Le Manege.

I have an important update regarding the coming meetup originally scheduled on Feb 12th at 8pm (Thursday). Considering the current signup and other guests (not in the meetup group), we expect that the coming meetup will involve about 20-30 people. After much thought, we have decided to move the meetup to Le Manege because it will provide us with a much better environment for a meetup of that size. The new venue also has audio/video facilities for a better presentation experience.

Le Manege  ( http://www.lemanege.org )
1/F Canton House, 54-56 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong (3 minutes walk from Central MTR Exit D1)

Special thanks to Juli and her associate Peter, this private club will have special offer to us:

1) A 650 sq ft Function Room good for party with 30 participants

2) The following refreshment will be served:
Assorted Herbal Tea
Vegetarian Spring Roll
Curry Samosa
Chicken Skewer
Grilled Eggplant
Grilled Veal Sausage
Tiramisu cake
Garlic Bread

As with any good venue, there is some cost (deposit and minimum charge) associated with it. As we haven't found any sponsors this time (hopefully we will in the future), so all the members who RSVPed 'Yes' will need to share the cost (about HK$[masked] per person, because we should not ask our guest speakers to pay, right?). It's more expensive than a drink, but still quite affordable. For the venue and the service we get, the price is very reasonable. The only purpose of this arrangement is to make the coming event a better one, and to provide everyone with a better experience. Of course, we all hope to make HKBO a better group, don't we?

Because of this change, it requires more commitment from you (especially those who have RSVPed 'Yes'). But I understand that it's in a rush and you might change your mind regarding this new arrangement. The organizers have decided to postpone the coming meetup for two weeks (the venue has to be confirmed and deposit paid one week in advance), so that you will have enough time (until Feb 19) to make your decision.

THE FOLLOWING IS IMPORTANT!!
HKBO February Meetup is re-scheduled at 7:30pm, Feb 26 (Thursday) at Le Manege.

You will have another week or so to decide whether you will come or not. And of course, you are welcome to bring your guests along.

For your convenience, you may pay at door. If you RSVP 'Yes', you must leave your contact information to me (through email or phone) so that I can reach you, otherwise you won't be counted:
real name + mobile phone number (must), email (optional)

It's ABSOLUTELY OK to change your mind and RSVP 'No'. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT OK if you RSVP 'Yes' but don't show up. If you RSVP 'Yes' but for some reason can not come, you must notify me by email or call no later than Feb 25 (one day before the meetup). If we have met the minimum charge requirement, then it won't cost you anything. Otherwise you will have to pay for the event (and your credibility), regardless whether you come or not. No excuse will be accepted, because it's just not fair for the other members who have taken the time to participate to pay for someone who can't keep his words.

We respect everyone and expect equal respect in return. So please RSVP responsibly.
