Hacker News London Meetup

Hope you are all enjoying the delights of English summer. For those of you not holidaying on sunny shores, we shall be having the next Hacker News meetup on 25th August at Skills Matter from 18:30 followed by the usual beers at the Slaughtered Lamb from around 8ish.

It also appears that we may have one or two speaking slots free. If you have any cool projects to demo, want to share something you learned or have anything else that the fine hackers of London would find interesting, please let me know.

Please register with Skills Matter on their event page at to ensure they know you are coming and let you in.

Hacker News London Meetup is sponsored by these generous folks:

I was thinking about the tweet from @alexandrosM Short requests by entrepreneurs while half the room is networking.
There has to be a better way to do this #hnlondon

Don't know if moving them first/last would make any difference, but maybe if anyone who made a short request were to post the key details as a comment here (eg the URL for that conference and a contact for the person who made the announcement , maybe not the discount code) then it might help for those we only half heard

Great meetup, great crowd really enjoyed my first time! Out of personal interest I was wondering: Is there any job board especially for startup jobs in around London? Apparently many startups are hiring but who are they?

There's a group of us heading up from Brighton for the OpenCoffeeLondon meet (several of us have just finished an Innovation and Growth Team programme and have an eye towards investment). I'm also co-org of the OpenCoffeeSussex group, I figure a trip to London (with HNLondon in the evening) is in order. Maybe some HNers would like to pop along in the morning too?
