HP Salem Halloween Ball

Time: 8:00 p.m. - 12:00 p.m.

About: DJs Alvis and Zombi will play Halloweeny/80s/Wrock/ Goth/Industrial/current dance music, photo opportunities, and full bar. All ages welcome, 21+ to drink (bring ID). You may not bring your own alcohol.

Cost: $10 RSVP or $15 at the door

Travel Notes: This is the Friday of Halloween weekend in Salem.  I recommend you get into town early as Salem will be extremely crowded this time of year. Parking is available behind the hall but the Salem stop on the commuter rail is highly recommended.

The Rules: Costume required (HP preferrable but any fabulous costume will do)

What's the best way to get there? We drove up to Salem today, and parking was insane. Is Commuter Rail the way to go?

The commuter rail isthe best bet, but check the holiday commuter rail schedule. You can also take Rte 62 into Beverly and then take Bridge Street into Salem. There is parking behind the KOC hall. It's better to avoid 128 and 114 if you can as they tend to get the most congested. You can park your car in the KOC lot anytime after 3:30. Last would be sharing a cab. Salem cab drivers will know their way around and wil find the quickest routes.

Here is the train schedule. Please note the last train is 11:30 ish so taking a cab home might be a better option for a later night. http://www.mbta.com/templates/popup_help.asp?eid=20365#ex...

Is the KoC lot just for us, or is it general parking? I don't mind driving up so much as spending 2 hours looking for parking. :)

I know what you mean! Parking is just for us and KOC members.

Is anyone driving up from Newton/Boston or in that general vicinity by any chance? I'm willing to chip in on the gas bill

Dina, Ray Smith from NH is looking to split a hotel with someone and can be found on the facebook event page http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=121359104631507
Michele, I would also post your comment on the fb event page as well as I know there are some who are traveling from Boston that night.

For those driving into Salem, the traffic is going to be INSANE on the normal highways Rt 128/Rt 114 etc. For those staying in Danvers, take Rt 62 East down through Beverly and then take a Right onto Rantoul St. 1A S and follow Bridge St./ 1A S into Salem and take a Left onto Winter St. (still Rt 1A) to the Salem Common/take a Left onto Washington Sq. North, then a Right onto Washington Sq. East.

The Knights of Columbus is 94 Washington Sq. East (between Andrews St. & Briggs St.) parking lot to the right of the building. If you are coming from the South (Boston area) take Rt 107 North to Rt 1A N/Bridge St. (bear Right) & then Right onto Winter St.
