Let's get together!

So much is happening in the world of HPC and GPU computing!

Our 9/26 Meetup will be a casual get-together to discuss topics of interest and map out a meeting schedule for the next six months. No formal presentation will be given.

Nicholas Wilt of Amazon will be on hand to discuss his new book "The CUDA Handbook." NVIDIA will cover the cost of appetizers. Hope you can make it!

(Note: The reservation at Cheesecake Factory is held under the name "Jay".)

    Hi all,

In order to help illustrate Big-Little vs. Big-Big manycore performance tradeoffs to a colleague, I made an interactive model that combines Amdahl's Law, Little's Law, and hardware limitations together into dynamic charts and tables:

In hindsight, I think I should redo this as a few different versions specialized for different platforms, so I'm looking for feedback. What architectural parameters (host and local memory B/W and latency; number, speed and type of cores, etc.) would be appropriate for capturing the spirit of GPU utilization? Please email me with comments ([masked]) or find me at the meetup. Thanks!
