Vanessa, don't listen to weather forecasts, more often than not, they are wrong, or not as bad as they portray. And if it is you can always leave! I never let weather forecasts determine my plans!

If you want to let me know you are joining the sedentary faction *wink*, please leave me a message on here by clicking my name then leaving me a message. That way others can then see who is watching instead of marching. IF needed, my cell # is[masked] (keeping my old Lynchburg Virginia #).

For those who want to watch instead of march (both sound fun.....) I will stick to my plan to meet at Granby and A View with anyone wants to join. Check back on Friday - I will come up with some sort of 'sign' to mark our territory and post what to look for. ** anyone - would they allow one of those pop up 10'x10' shelters along the route? **

    March 14, 2012

  • Vanessa G

Dermout H asked if we want to march with them. Who's in? :)

    March 14, 2012

  • andy w.

    March 14, 2012

We have been invited to march in the parade!!Meet up at Section 1, place 32 for the St Patrick's day parade on Westmont Ave! Please be there before 9.15 if possible. Actual parade is at 10.00. We will have a fake boat with St. Brendan on board and a lot of monks. "cos we all know St. Brendan discovered America. . We will have a truck with musicians playing Irish traditional music. We will be giving out green beads and candy. Dress in green if you can. It should be a fun day to march.

I didn't put a specific place for viewing the parade, however Granby and A View is a good location. After the parade, most will be at the after party at the Knights of Columbus. Steven, if you would like please put out your cell so people can call.

    March 14, 2012

The only specific place that I see to meet is where Steven Rupert mentions. At Granby and A View. Is this where we are all meeting? or am I missing something.

parade flyer route link is http://www.norfolkparade.com/2012_Flyer.pdf
Anyone else interested in trying to get an early front row seat at the corner of Granby and A View? Convenient parking, longer view of the parade at a corner (of course everyone else probably knows that too, so I plan on getting there by 8:30am to claim a spot). Let me know if you want to gather there too - I will try to save some spots. BYO coffee....

    March 13, 2012

Andy, Shannon and I will be in the parade with the Beachcombers, a Corvette Club. Maybe all of us that will be in the parade should exchange telephone numbers so we can meet before the parade starts. Usually there is a good one hour wait.

Andy, Can I upload documents? I have saved the flyer for the parade route and would like to share it with everyone. Thank you!

where exactly is that map Andy? I don't see anything called 'images'. I see photos and files, but don't see it there either.

    March 12, 2012

  • andy w.

I've posted a map under images for locations to view the parade as a group, again get there early for parking and to find a good spot. The after party is down Government Ave going across Granby: 211 W. Government Ave. Look for Shannon with the Scottish Society of Tidewater. Look for Shannon and Paola with their group. Ryan and I will be in the Shrine (red fezzes) Drum Corps. Ryan will be on a drum and I will be playing a shoulder mounted horn. Look to meet at the after party.

    March 12, 2012

  • Shannon

I'll be with Paola in the parade. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone afterwards! :) ttys

For those participating in the parade: Paola, Shannon, myself, we will meet up with everyone after the parade at the Knight of Columbus after party. For those who are watching, plan to get to the parade by 9:30 at the latest. I found that being towards the end of the parade on Granby is best for viewing. Parking is allowed on side streets.

    March 7, 2012

  • Paola

I will be participating in the parade as well, but I would like to meet you guys afterwards.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
