This group is for women who are highly sensitive (as coined by Elaine Aron), love to be outdoors, and want to make some new friends. Friendly dogs are welcome if the trail allows them.
Most hikes will be on the Eastside, near Woodinville, Redmond, Bellevue, Issaquah and North Bend. I usually plan hikes about once a month. I enjoy slower hikes, so the pace will be slow to moderate. Hikes will occur rain or shine.
This is a laid back group with no set discussion, but we have had some great discussions about being highly sensitive and how that effects our lives. It's a fun support group for highly sensitive women. And if you are quiet and don't want to talk much, that's okay too.
If you think you might be highly sensitive, but aren't sure, check out this self test. About 15 to 20 percent of the population is highly sensitive. Highly sensitive people tend to be more aware and sensitive to their physical environment and also more aware emotionally. We tend to be more empathetic towards others and can get easily overwhelmed by other people's emotions, being rushed, or just our environment.
If you are a highly sensitive woman and enjoy being outdoors, I hope you will consider joining. It's been a very positive experience for me and I hope it will be for you too.
In addition, any HSP with misophonia is welcome as well. My 13 year old daughter has a mild case of misophonia and one of our members has it also, so please feel comfortable joining knowing we will be sensitive to your needs.
