Hi everyone,

Be ready for the 7th HTML5 CodeShow !
It will, this time take place at the Innovation Warehouse on the 20th of November.

Orange Labs UK sponsors' this meetup, so we'll have Food and Beverage at the end of the meetup !

Mathew Henson will make a presentation on how to "Create complex 3D scenes"

I will be talking about how to create high end, complex 3D scenes using Webgl and javascript. I'll cover tips, terminology and performance using a previously developed scene as reference. I'll cover some of the challenges I faced while developing the world and recommend ways to improve its performance. Topics will include post processing, terrain, octrees, collision detection and AI.

Jean Francois Moy - Orange Labs UK - “Modern Development Workflow For Modern Web-Apps”

Recently, a vast number of tools have emerged for web developers to use when developing a complex web application. During this talk, I will present a few of those we use daily while developing Libon, along with best practices to ease and accelerate the development work. These tools include Grunt, Bower, Node.JS/NPM, Bootstrap, Yeoman, etc.

Libon is the iPhone and Android app that puts your voicemail on steroids! Create customized greetings for each one of your contacts, enjoy free HD calls with your Libon friends and send fun instant messages for FREE. Download the phone app now on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or visit http://www.libon.com for more information.

Guys I am so sorry that I couldn't make it. I had to fly out of the country for a family emergency.

My sincerest apologies for not being able to come over.

I really enjoyed the talk, was quite basic, but showed a lot of stuff, and it was enough to interest some of the people (including me). What I didn't like, was the people being late and making noise - I couldn't hear the speaker because of the swish. Also, because of the chairs alignment, I wasn't able to see the screen when sitting in the back, but it's not that I'm complaining, it's just worth to keep in mind for future, because I know it's not only me. One last thing... if 30% of the people is suddenly gone after the pizza, there's obviously something wrong. But except those things, meetup was great. Much thanks for organizers, Jean Francois and Orange Labs for amazing beverages and cups with minified CSS!

As to Pizza, I didn't stay for that; quite wrongly, it turned out, I thought that after the first talk was done; then, it was time for everybody to go home. Reading through these comments here...I can see that I should have stayed on a lot longer; but, then, of course, it was my 1st time there...; so, I just didn't know!

Thank you Marcin for the feedback on the talk.

I have tried to give a balanced talk between the introduction for newcomers to web workflows, and tips & tricks for more experienced developers. Hope it worked for you.

I might come back as a presenter at a later meetup to talk about advanced single page application development if you guys are interested.

Quite honestly, for me, this was the very 1st HTML CodeShow event that I ever went and attended; so, I really didn't know exactly what to expect, next; and, basically, came there with an entirely 'open mind'...??? Really enjoyed it, though; and, thanks very much for the gifts. There was an awful lot to take in...; and, I've still got to go and do a lot more research into learning: Libon/Grunt/Bower/Jenkins/-etc. Hopefully, I would very much like to be able to attend, again, in future, too; there is always so much to learn in the 'fast moving' technology paced world...which just never ever seems to stand still...! Lovely to meet you, Kelly Tran/and, all others who attended/especially, the main speaker/-etc. ;-)

7.30 I think is really late. What am I supposed to do between 6 and 7.30? Please don't tell me use the net as 8 hours is more than enough.

."Dude" every one has a right to give their opinions. I wasn't rude just requesting.

    • Paul R.

LOL Between 6 and 7:30...go run around the block; and, get to keep fit...especially, for what's coming, next. Fit body means a fit mind. ;-)

Good event. Jean François talk was very interesting and he gave plenty of tools to use to ease web dev. Too bad Mathew couldn't make it.
Only bad point was that the screen was a bit to low to see it well from the furthest rows, yet the presentation is already available so it's not a big issue.

    Hello everydody,

One more time I would like to thank you for coming at yesterday's HTML5 Codeshow.

I would like to apologize that Mathew was not able to make his presentation this time and cancelled at the last minute.
I will try to do my best for having him at our next MeetUp.

    Thank you for you comprehension.

I've just changed my RSVP as there's no chance I'll be leaving work within the hour, so I'd be hopelessly late. Hope it's not too late for somebody else to take my place. Enjoy, all.

  • Manuel S.

    Actually I agree with you.
But I'm sure who organized the event had good reasons... could be the location availability or speackers...

Btw thank you to the organization.

    • Shehzad A.

Yeah thanks for organising. Just airing my views without sounding ungrateful. :-)
