You guys are free to schedule your own meetings anywhere you want to. The group is open, and you are all organizers. If you want speakers then I suggest you source them from within the group. Talk to each other about putting something together, and something great will probably turn out.

If your Meetup Group is set up so that members can add new Meetups, you'll see a prompt on your Group home page that says + Suggest a New Meetup
Another note, membership dues are a suggested donation, you are not required to pay the fee, but if you want to access the community then it's appreciated if you contribute.
