I am new to this meet up group and this would be my first ever meet up. And I thought Web development is very overlooked in Singapore. Would be glad to be the photographer if organizer would allow.
Cheers! PS. Don't trust too much in my photography skill, going to be listening most of the time.

It puts me to rest then haha. Because I just graduated front end development seems so new and googling 'Web designers Singapore' or 'Web html convention' just brings me up to minor/major business with nothing related to meet ups, convention, seminar, talks and being a design freak, it gives me an impression that the front end aspects is dead.

Took me a while to actually find meetup.com. Will be glad to meet more people that have been in the field and far better than me - a greenhorn in the field.

    Hi Loretta,

I feel that you should get more people involved in organizing this meetup. With just a single person, it wont work. Maybe you should attend other local meetups such as frontend.sg and talk.js and try to get the word out on html5 meetup. Its all about collaboration with different groups and people.

Communication and frequent updates is the key, but since you fly most of the time it will be hard. Hope you can find some solutions and arrange this meetup more efficiently.

Hi Vinay, I do agree on your comment "it's all about collaboration" ! I am trying to assist to the different development meet-ups in SG and talk to people but indeed it's quite a challenge considering that i am doing it alone and that i need to travel a lot for work and that's one of the reason why i want to push more people to get involved! Thank you indeed for your comment and hope to settle things with perseverance !

Last time when this meet up was scheduled, I went there in the middle of by busy schedule only to find that plugin (event venue) was locked. I waited there for about 15 minutes along with few others thinking that some one is coming! Since I had organisers mobile number, I sent an SMS too! I'm too disappointed till date that I did not get any response.

Don't get me wrong! I really appreciate some one taking effort to share their knowledge

With little effort situations like this can be avoided saving time for many just like us!

Arul, i did notify all the meet-up members on the meeting update. I am hence deeply sorry that you missed it & lost valuable time to get to the venue and waited for no reason. As much as i want to, i can only do so much as notify as much as possible when the meeting is updated but it is up to you to read your emails . And no...no i cannot yet receive sms while flying but i sure would love to ! In any case you are right , these meet-up takes effort , time & organization therefore i hope that these lesson will be turned into valuable actions to move forward . we are only kicking-off right now and are therefore facing all the start-up beginning issues . Thank you then for your understanding and hope to make it back to you soon !

Thanks for writing back to me, lets work together to avoid such situations. Better option would be to remove the event or add a comment on the event page itself to notify that it is not happening. For me I did receive an SMS a day before telling me that the event is happening. When I visited the event page it was telling me that the event is happening that day.

Who are the speakers? And description of these talks?

    1 · February 28, 2013

    • TIOIELA L.

Dear Sebastiaan, As explained on multiple occasion the meet-up group is still pretty new and for now we haven't been in sync with Mozilla ,following last November Mozilla Camp in SG to get speakers back in SG. In term of speakers for now it is just only me and any other meet-up members who want to step-up on any subject. I will make sure to add-on much details on the speaks later on but for now i'd rather keeps the theme of the week discussion to key words to push any members to step forward and share their knowledge .

Please schedule the sessions either on weekends or on any day other than Friday. Thanks.

Dear Punit, Unfortunatelly a lot of us has different schedule ...that makes it almost impossible for me now to satisfy everyone's need and i hope that you can understand it . Nonetheless with time i hope that the group will agree on the best moment during the week to hold these meeting so just let's keep it as an open discussion upon which we will settle.
