HTML5 Meet & Learn: SproutCore

NOTE: Date change to Feb 24.

Join SproutCore Core Team Member Michael Cohen for an overview of what SproutCore is, and why you want to be using it for your next project. He'll walk through the traditional understanding of what a webapp is, and how SpoutCore changes that paradigm to really provide a true native-app experience.

Michael will also walk through some SproutCore design concept basics, and show off some great demos of SproutCore apps in action (including the recently released NPR app, and Eloqua10)

Topic: SproutCore and HTML5

Speaker: Michael Cohen from the SproutCore team

Michael Cohen is a Senior Software Developer at Eloqua, based out of Washington, DC, and is responsible for GUI development using the SproutCore framework. In addition to Michael being a member of the SproutCore core team, he is also the creator and maintainer of the open source frameworks Lebowski, Ki, and Mata.

Wasn't entirely satisfied with the information, not enough relevance towards learning about HTML 5 markup.

I was not to impressed with the meet-up yesterday. I am very interested in learning more about HTML 5 and love the idea of a venue to discuss. I don't want to waste my time being sold a product! I really hope that we will focus on HTML 5 from now on! I gave it one star because the presenter said HTML 5 at one point during the presentation.

I like the idea of the framework. It will make developer's life easier hopefully. Also, the presentation is quite good.

Good overview for what SproutCore is all about. If there was more time I would have loved to see more in depth examples.

Hi James -- The Mobile presentation has been moved to next month so we can welcome a special out-of-town guest to speak about an HTML5-related library called SproutCore.

Did the topic of this meetup change? I thought it was geared toward HTML5 on mobile devices. Thanks for clarifying.

PS: if you can add one guest that would be just super.

I think something is broke! With the event full, I changed my status to 'bring 1 guest' and went on the waitlist. Then, I went back to '0 guests' but I'm still on the waitlist. Have I blown my shot at getting in?!? PS congrats on the sellout. Nice!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
