Feb Hadoop Pittsburgh Meetup

  • Feb 15, 2012 · 6:00 PM
  • Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center

Hey, Let meet and talk about Hadoop.

Shannon is going to talk about Mahout.

Mahout is a generalized machine learning library which uses Hadoop to distribute its operations. I'll describe how we use Mahout to efficiently learn models that capture the motion patterns observed in the biomedical videos. These models can then provide assistance to clinicians and researchers in making diagnoses based on quantifiable information.
(Sorry Pete.)

Bryon  will be talking about setting up a new Hadoop cluster at

    Excellent discussion of Mahout usage.
Looking forward to the March meeting and the presentation on Isilon's commercial offering for Hadoop storage.

Thanks for mentioning this last night, Doug. The next meeting sounds very interesting; I'm going to try to make it out.
