Engaging Patients: How effective are Mobile and Social Gaming strategies?

HXD Vancouver is honoured to present our May Guest speaker, Michael Fergusson, CEO and founder of Ayogo.

Ayogo
is a Vancouver-based company that applies the psychololgy of games to patient engagement and adherence.

As mobile devices become more pervasive in our lives, even the way we engage in our own healthcare has started to involve Smartphone apps. In addition, there has been a lot of hype about gamifying healthcare. This is not news to Michael, who started Ayogo nearly 5 years ago.

At this HXD Event, Michael will share with us ideas around the effectiveness of Mobile and Social gaming strategies for Patient Engagement. He will share insights from the analysis of nearly 20,000 players of Ayogo's social health applications. Is it all just hype - to get us involved in our healthcare in the first place? Or are these games effective enough to build self-efficacy? What lessons can been learned from the pioneers?

What to expect: Presentation, Critical Thinking, Questions in a Casual atmosphere. Drinks and food available for purchase.

  • networking starts at 7:00
  • presentation at 7:30
  • stay until 9 or so

Michael speaks with passion and wisdom. Always a pleasure being in a room of 40 strangers and geeking out over marxism, Bartle's gaming types, healthcare innovation and meta-design!
