Speaker: Rudy Jahchan, Chris Svenningsen, Bobby Matson
Title: vimTronner: Building a Command-Line Real-Time Multiplayer Game with Sockets and Node.
We're launching vimTronner, a multiplayer game that trains you in vim navigation! Built over the last few months during C5 hack-nights and project time, we learned a few things about building command-line applications, terminal graphics, and using web-sockets for real time games. Join us as we walkthrough lessons and techniques learned and play a few rounds!
Bring your own project or work with someone else. Developers of all experience levels are welcome. There will be at least a couple Carbon Five folks around to help out.
Doors open around 6pm, the talk starts at 7pm and we'll keep hacking until 9pm (sometimes later). Bring your laptop and a project to work on. We'll provide the infrastructure, food, and beverages.
If you're driving, here's some parking help.
ps. If the gate in front of the building is locked, dial #3333 to buzz yourself in.
