Hack Portland

Hey Everyone!

We are holding weekly meetups to hack on our pet projects.  A lot of these are ideas that we independently work on during our off time, nights and weekends.  We're looking to create a collaborative environment with like-minded people.  This is not limited to software, all form of hackery and makery are welcome.  Even if you're just curious, please come on down, hang out, fool around and shoot the breeze.  Also, please join the community on G+ it's more fun to share stuff there: http://bit.ly/13iwlXj

Love,

Any chance on attending via Skype?

We interact with each while working on our pet projects or otherwise. It is a little too organic & socially based for Skype.,,

In the future I'll see if we can set up a video feed or something for those who are just try-curious. The night is pretty organic and I think it might be tough to feel included in the fun via Skype. That said, if anyone has one of those video conferencing robots they'd like to bring in, more power to ya.

I'm down in Portland for the day and plan to drop in. I'm self-appointed ambassador from the Bangor hackers (www.hackmaine.org). Anyone in this group done any Kickstarting?

Max tried to do an indiegogo campaign for his game. We're affiliated with the Open Bench Project makerspace initiative - and they're nearly there with less than 3 days to go. https://www.indiegogo....

Hello, my friend and I were interested in attending tonight.. (both Digital Analysts at LL Bean), but we're code-challenged. I will try to look out for a night in the future that will be more "open discussion" or community-brainstorming focused. Have fun tonight, though.

There's nothing code specific on any night. The nights are usually more conversation than anything else. Feel free to come whenever you can.

Glad to see the group is growing- perhaps someday I'll actually make it to a meet and introduce myself.

If you haven't seen this yet. We're going to do a hack night challenge tomorrow. The link above has more info, but it's basically to complete an 80's game inspired hack before 9pm at Big Room studios. Then we post the hacks here and on G+ and the communities vote on the winner. Prizes and awards may follow. ;-) --- voting via =1's on G+ is the easiest to tally. please head over there and interact more. It really is a good interface for future hack-night planning and project discussion.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
