AT&T and NestGSV, along with Vuzix, Seeed Studio, Wahoo Fitness and Pebble, are sponsoring a hackathon to tap into the future of wearables.
Vuzix, a leader in computer display software and devices, and SeeedStudio, an open hardware facilitation company, will be providing challenge prizes. More prize information will be updated shortly.
The wearables industry is still very young and undiscovered, with many big players still grappling with how to best build, market and sell this new wave of devices to consumers. The most commonly recognized devices are of course, Google’s Glass product, Pebble’s smart watch, Nike’s Fuelband and the Fitbit fitness tracker.
As an industry, we are very much at the dawn of this new era of wearable tech, with the best business cases and consumer end uses still yet to be discovered.
