Drinks on us. Tech Socials are a fun, relaxed way to connect with local tech - so much so that literally 100% of our growth is by word-of-mouth.

This month, we have a short talk by Desire2Learn's Justin Lai - a Waterloo engineering grad and all-around good guy (you may remember him from such firms as Recruit My Friends, Shopable.TV, and Amazon.com). Not to set expectations too high, but expect his talk to be more awesome than both the Big Bang and the discovery of chocolate milk combined.

Rough lineup (pretty much always in development)
- quick intro
- announcements
- sponsor appreciation & love
- short talk + Q&A with Justin Lai of Desire2Learn

A reminder that ProductCamp is coming up this Saturday. It's a free event (with lunch!) focusing on Product Development, Product Management, Product Marketing, Innovation, and Startups. As entrepreneurs, we are all very close to our products, and whatever our title, take on product management responsibilities. I attended last year... could easily have been a $3000 industry conference, but at no charge. It's a 'for the community, by the community" unconference, no sales pitches, and the insights you'll gain from product veterans (and each other) will be phenomenal and immediately actionable. And whoa, meetup comments - did they convert to business classifieds when we weren't looking?? Oh, no, p.a.i.n.f.u.l

It was great to meet everyone. It was also a rich networking session regarding that I am a new startup in the healthcare area. I was able to meet some very interesting people, however I am still looking for a web developer who would be interested in a long term commitment/ shareholding opportunity in a very promising venture. If by any chance any any of the group members would have a recommendation for a free lance developer, please feel free to pass my number:[masked]

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
