I was so excited about this, and Matz and the other speakers did not disappoint! It was really cool to hear the story of mruby -- the motivations, sponsorship, and what's changed recently. Talented speakers covering interesting topics, and cool demos -- perfect. I'm bad at schmoozing, so having interesting demos was a really helpful excuse to talk to other people and learn about a new technology at the same time. Thank you Jeanine for encouraging us to go back and look at them; I hadn't even realized that that was what was there.

I don't want to spam the meet up but I was looking for a tech attorney to review a proposal and contract I want to sign with a developer overseas. I was told this might be a good place to start. Email me at [masked]

Hi Anthony. Got you covered but it may take me until the end of the week to set it up, what with Matz mania. Will email you.

It clearly means a lot more to you than it might to me. I changed my RSVP to no. Hope you can attend.

General Assembly ( would be thrilled to host this at our space in San Francisco. We are a global network of campuses for individuals seeking opportunity and education in technology, business, and design. We run a variety of workshops and courses — including a 12-week full-time "Web Development Immersive" program that turns people with little coding background into employable web developers, and a part-time front-end course and back-end course. We are focused on Ruby, of course!

Our instructors are all field practitioners, and are committed to creating and coaching the next generation of software engineers and Ruby developers. Our diverse students and community members in general work on incredible projects both in "class" and in the field, and would be super excited to meet and exchange ideas with Matz and the Japanese devs coming with him.

Excited to talk further! Please contact me either on Meetup or at my email address: annie [at] ga [dot] co.

We could potentially host this at InMobi - 475 Brannan. Let me know if there is interest in that.
