Hello Gerald,
Welcome to the graph database meetup. Interesting that you're working with patient data; when I first discovered Neo4j, I had been doing work with OpenMRS (an open source medical record system), and kept thinking "these joins are crazy, isn't this a graph problem?" And then I found Neo4j.
