After 19 yrs of working in Silicon Valley I have decided it's not enough to create technology for technology's sake. There's a positive purpose to creating technology.
California as far as I know limits motor output (on the street for a scooter - very important as scooters are classified differently) to 1000w or 50cc gas. Which never made any sense to me as a 50cc gas motor will produce about 4hp or 3000 watts..) But alas. Most laws don't make a ton of sense.
From most LEO's I've talked to, if it's electric, they don't care. But I wouldn't want to be caught going 45mph on it for sure.
Welcome to the group btw!
David, would you like to have a display about your vehicles at Maker Faire? You'd be a natural. If you just had a few photos, we could hang them on the booth and have you chat about the conversions. Booth helpers at the Faire get free admision. I'd like to invite you to be the presenter at one of our meetings as well. Perhaps that would be an opportunity for us to have a joint meeting with Chris' EVEsv group.
That was such a blast last meeting seeing your lil' ol' Karmen Ghia powered up! :-)
Remember, this Thursday's meeting is @ SNEHA Indian Buffet on Lawrence Expressway, south of Hwy 101 @ ~ 12 noon.
(despite my mixed up email)
Thanks & we look forward to seeing you again!
David, consider yourself invited to give a presentation to the group about car conversions and open source hardware and software. Even a short presentation as part of a round of lightning talks would be welcome. A presentation wouldn't have to have slides: it could be a show-and-tell.
Hi David, Hi David, you seem to be a member of meetup group for adsense. I live in the Bay Area too and would like to connect with others who are doing the same.

Welcome to our group, David! I'll be coordinating our next Meetup very soon... hope you can join us. Rhonda
