( This is a cross posted event of the San Diego Regional Data Library, since the group has hackers and we're pretty sure journalists are interested in crime. Here is the original: http://tinyurl.com/aj8s5j2 )
Learn how to analyze crime data and link crime to traffic, street lamps and demographics to learn about your community. We will be using Python, GIS and a variety of data analysis techniques to study a wide range of issues related to crime in this long term project.
The project will require a lot of talents and is great for participants of any skill level; whether you are a Predictive Analytics Ace, or a non-technical but concerned community member, there is a role for you on this project.

Can't make it this time but would like to come to another session if you end up having one!
