Hello Hacks/Hackers! I thought some of you might be interested in this event happening this weekend. I attended the most recent one in June, and there was a really cool journalism project that got hacked on (unfortunately I can't remember or find the name of it). Also, Route TV will be live-streaming the Atlanta event, so there could easily be opportunities for different Hacks/Hackers chapters to collaborate, especially if their cities are also hosting RHoK events, since it's a global hackathon.
There's also a happy hour happening tonight, Tuesday, for anyone who want to just find out more, folks who need feedback to flesh out their idea for a project for this weekend, or people who just want to hang out with other rhok'ers: https://www.facebook.com/events/172827396195755/)

Wanna use your technology or design skills or your knowledge of a particular issue for social good and really change the world? Or do you work/volunteer for a non-profit or work in government and face a challenge that you think technology could help solve, or just have an idea for a civic app? Join us at Atlanta's 5th Random Hacks of Kindness hackathon at GTRI during the weekend of Dec. 1 - 2! In addition to free food, drinks and swag, we've given away thousands of dollars in prizes and the top 2 teams from last year's event were even recognized by Atlanta City Council. Who knows...maybe you'll build a civic startup like SeeClickFix... Here is a video of June's event: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151287107876449
