I'm a Hacks/Hackers organizer out of NYC. Do a lot of work looking at news innovation and the startup space, especially with the Knight News Challenge. Worked as a reporter at The New York Times for 9 years.

Hack. Wish I were a hacker. Wrote a book on Chinese food called "The Fortune Cookie Chronicles" that landed me on Colbert and TED.com

Jennifer I am new to this group but if you look at the speakers list for the city hall event you will see I have some of the most famous and cutting edge people in computer technology speaking. If you want take me out of the group. You should really check the speakers list.

Hiya -- yah, I did :-) I know Burt from SF, just moved to Boston (started as a postdoc at Microsoft Research [working with danah boyd] and a Fellow at Harvard's Berkman Center), and was considering taking a trip down to NYC the weekend of 11/6-7.
