Sunday Hackternoon At Hacker Dojo

It works like this:
I find out what you know already.

I find out what you want to know.

I find you a person to pair-program with.

Hopefully they know what you want to know.

You two think of a simple project (software probably)
which can be built in a Hackternoon.

You build the project and deploy it.

Variations on this theme:

1. You program alone (about 20% follow this path).

2. You arrive at the Meetup already paired up with your evil-twin.

3. You just socialize and surf web games and make new friends
and do nothing "productive"
(about 10% follow this path).

I had a great time! Another case of a great spirit encountering troll hijinks ;)

It's my own fault that I can't rate the meetup higher, since I failed to bring my laptop, so I couldn't really pair up with anyone. I do intend to return with my laptop. Possibly more emphasis on bringing a laptop would help in the promotional materials, but it was my own lack of attention that's to blame.

This was my first time at a hacking event. Didn't know what to expect or how to be prepared. Looks like there are a lot of knowledgeable people there to learn from. I know very little about developing apps and websites, but now I at least know what to research to get started. I look forward to attending more of these kind of events.

did not end up with a programming partner this time around, but made acquaintance with Dan and Igor, and definitely enjoyed the time.

Couple of questions - (i) What time is this expected to end? (ii) Do I have to be a member of the Dojo to attend?
