When Fast isn’t fast enough: Go Real-time with Open Source In-Memory Computing

Today’s enterprises have more data than they can leverage and it is growing fast! Mobile and Cloud Computing require even faster paradigms. Risk must be evaluated in real-time. Welcome to the value of in-memory computing. This meet up will review the lessons learned and powerful uses of the Open Source Apache 2.0 licensed In-Memory Computing solution that provides distributed, clustered, high performance capabilities for OLTP and Data Analytics uses. The presentation will review deployments leveraging streaming data, big data and other velocity and volume challenges.

So if you need to make Hadoop real-time, process 1 billion TPS, analyze and process streaming data sources or achieve your applications performance SLA’s—In-memory is the fastest and most cost effective way to do it!

Join us to hear Dmitriy Setrakyan, co-founder and EVP Engineering of the leading In-Memory solutions from GridGain Systems present what In-Memory Computing is, the uses cases for it and why it is getting so much attention now. His presentation will concentrate on the core capabilities of In-Memory Computing like clustering and high performance computing, in-memory data grid, streaming and Complex Event Processing (CEP), and in-memory Hadoop acceleration.

This was my first Hadoop meetup. It was good as we learned about GridGain's in memory data grid solution. Their Hadoop accelerator seemed interesting.

It was nice to interact with some members today. In general I'm new to Hadoop and mainly doing self-learning at present. I am interested in forming a group of developers interested in hadoop and big data technologies so we can collaborate on a real world learning project (maybe play with some public domain data-sets on Amazon EC2 or Azure..or any other ideas we jointly come up with). If we finish a good project we will all have resume material.

If anyone is interested, please send me an email at [masked]. If my email address gets stripped in this message, please use the "send email" link through my meetup profile.
    Thanks, Gagan

I have a last minute emergency and would not be able to make it. Someone on the waitlist can use it.

Madhu, Please feel free to email me (through my profile link) after the meetup session to get a feel for what was discussed. I will be taking notes and can share them with you. Besides attending this meetup session my goal is also to network with other developers interested in hadoop and big data technologies and possibly even collaborate on a real world learning project.

We have just changed the location of this event to The Lounge at Southern Hospitality BBQ. Has anyone in this group eaten there? Wondering if we provide BBQ from there or stick with traditional pizza. Any thoughts?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
