About the presentation:
Chris Wensel will be presenting on the Cascading open-source project, an API for defining and executing complex and fault tolerant data processing workflows on a Hadoop cluster. Chris will specifically cover what the processing model looks like, many of its core features, and the kinds of problems Cascading was intended to solve or prevent.

About the speaker:
Chris Wensel is the lead developer of Cascading, the founder of Concurrent, Inc., and a principal instructor at Scale Unlimited. Chris has been developing both Nutch and Hadoop applications on and off for the past four years, and developing distributed systems for more than the last dozen.
