[Hadoop NYC meetup] Comprehensive Open Approach to Hadoop Monitoring

From: Alex D.
Sent on: Thursday, November 12, 2009 7:39 PM
The dust has settled after the Hadoop World and it is time to renew our meetups.

Let me introduce:

Developing a Comprehensive Open Approach to Hadoop Monitoring

Managing large networks is in itself challenging. The Apache Cloud Stack featuring Hadoop adds its own monitoring and management challenges. This presentation is a combination of general monitoring best practices as well as Hadoop specific wrinkles. Monitoring techniques with cacti and nagios will be demonstrated.

About the speaker- Edward Guy Capriolo is a self proclaimed monitoring guru. He has recently been honored as committer for Hadoop Hive.
