From: Alex D.
Sent on: Tuesday, January 26, 2010 12:49 AM
Our (extended) holiday break is over. We will be resuming our meetups. Some updates:

1. I will be scheduling our next hadoop meetup for second week of February. Look for an announcement in next couple of days.

2. We are looking for speakers for upcoming meetups. Please share with the group your experience implementing Hadoop and related technologies. Please email me directly if you have a proposal for a talk

3. I am looking for assistant organizer to help me with organization of upcoming meetups. Any volunteers?

4. An announcement from New York's {Open}Solaris Community User Group meeting:
?Hadoop and Solaris Containers? - January 28th, 2010, 6pm, Sun Microsystems Office
http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/User+Group+nycosug/Event+22+-+January+2010
This presentation will discuss the use of Solaris Containers for distributed computing using the Hadoop Map/Reduce open source software framework, including the use of Sun Grid Engine as a framework to manage Apache Hadoop workloads.

Cheers
-Alex
