Special Talk about Mindfulness: Buddhist Nun Gen-la Dekyong in Toronto

Life can be very hectic sometimes. Surrounded by distractions, smartphones, demands from others, and the pressure of work, we can feel like our life goes by in a blur. As days melt into weeks, and weeks flow into months, we struggle to keep our head above water. We end up stressed out and exhausted. What would our life be like if we were learning to live each day fully, to be present and mindful of each moment?

Mindfulness is the art of bringing love, compassion, and wisdom into the present moment. When we do this all our normal daily activities such as eating, socializing, and working become deeply satisfying and meaningful.

When we train in mindfulness, even a simple conversation will become a source of inner peace and transformation. We will eventually free ourselves from the mental burden of our worries and our over-scheduled lives. We will reduce our feeling of stress, overcome worry, and find peace in our heart.

Mindfulness is the heart of meditation. Regardless of whether we are new to meditation or more experienced, this talk will help to deepen our practice of meditation and integrate it with our normal daily life. Gen-la will inspire us, illustrating how Buddha’s advice can help us become more mindful in our busy lives. The talk will include a short guided meditation.

Everyone is welcome to attend this special event.

Tickets are $10. Register online at www.kadampa.ca or at the door ($12).

Doors open @ 6:30

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
